D3.1 Outline: Social enrichment of media files -- state of the art and two recommended models for Fusion
[edit]
Models
- 1. Channel model (se also channel_interface): tag-based recommendations, without access management, or channels (playlists) managed by groups.
- For individuals interested in the same type of content (as expressed by tags, or sections of tags or tags_plus_badges).
- Content filtering is through flagging and blocking.
- Flags are different types: indicating
- emotional attitude (such as "funny"),
- legality of content (such as "copyrighted"),
- status of file (such as "unfinished" or "needs translation") and
- provenance of file (versioning).
- Flags are different types: indicating
- Channels are accessible through
- subscription (explicit act by user) or
- automatic recommendation (content/metadata delivered to user by system, based on user behaviour and profile).
- 2. Club model (see also club_interface: closed, trust/reputation based communities with access management. Files are only accessible to people who are trusted by the community (reputation values). Content producers contract with clubs and become members of clubs. Files released into a Club are watermarked by the Club name so in case of leaking, responsibility falls on the Club (as a community). Clubs can be fee-based or completely free (shared resources). A different type of recommendation system (based on trust/reputation values) is also possible.
The two models can be combined and also used separately.
